Hello untroubledheart! I see that you are requesting a critique for this so I shall do my best in critiquing.
First off, this art is visually pleasing to the eye and the composition you did is nicely done. At first, when I had glanced at this drawing, I thought the waves of the ocean were a part of the woman's hair! So those two parts of the image compliment each other very well.
The 'Originality' is at four stars merely because on a large art website like this, it's quite hard to come across some original ideas. However, I've never seen a 'Pirate/Princess' drawing drawn out like this before so points for originality there.
I love how detailed the man is and the castle in the background is drawn well and isn't overly detailed so it ends up taking the attention away from the two people in front of it. The main focus seems to be the man since he's colored the darkest compared to the rest.
My only problem with this piece is the man's right leg that's submerged in the water and the writing. It seems quite odd that his right leg is suddenly so bright compared to the rest of him. Is it because he's stepped into the water?
As for the writing, I think it would've made more of an impact if it went right across the bottom instead of being a little bunched up in the bottom corner there.
Overall though, this image gives off a storybook feel and is something I could see in one of those adventure books as the title page of a chapter. Very well done, untroubledheart!
Very charming. Reminds me of a fanfiction I read recently in which Emma literally grew up as a princess [(yeah just like me) she was a victim of the night]. The two complement each other perfectly. It's always great when I find a picture to join a story in my mind.
